Become a Certified Connective Tissue Therapist
– RAB Approved Body Therapy and Massage Training

This is Katrine Wennerwald’s signature training. A body therapy that embraces the whole person with techniques from both the new scientific and alternative worlds.

The connective tissue therapist training is based on a unique combination of several effective techniques:

  • Rolf Method/Structural Integration: Working to bring the body into balance through correction of body posture.
  • Elements from physiotherapy: Focus on identifying the causes of the body’s challenges, applied with a holistic perspective.
  • Stanley Rosenberg’s gentle connective tissue technique: A gentle and effective approach to improving connective tissue function.
  • Connective tissue massage with oil, supplemented with specially developed techniques based on Katrine Wennerwald’s over 25 years of experience as a therapist.

This massage training is ideal for you who want a solid foundation as a professional body therapist, regardless of whether you have experience in treatment or not.

What is Connective Tissue Therapy?

Connective tissue therapy is built on a holistic approach to treating the body’s symptoms. Both physical imbalances and emotional tensions can be taken into consideration.

What’s special about this therapy is the ability to model the body back into balance by working with the connective tissue. This can reduce stress on joints and muscles, relieve pain and provide more flexibility in the body. The treatment can also release our emotional tensions that can be “frozen” in the connective tissue. The client thereby gains renewed energy and a stronger foundation – both physically, mentally and emotionally.

The connective tissue is released with gentle and precise techniques that go under the body’s defenses and de-stress the nervous system, which activates the body’s natural ability to release tensions.

With this method, one can – without manipulating the body – work deeply in the tissue. A process that can feel like immediate relief both with a local effect and simultaneously affect the entire body. The treatment is often experienced as providing more lasting or permanent changes.

What Do You Personally get out of it?

The training gives you the opportunity to become a skilled and empathetic therapist, so you can help clients, your loved ones and yourself. Through the training you will experience greater body awareness, become sharpened intuitively and sensitively. You will gain new knowledge, awareness and presence around the body and mind.

The training can be used as a personal journey, or because you want to work with connective tissue therapy professionally.

What Kind of Therapist Will You Become?

With the connective tissue therapy training, you have a solid foundation for reading the body for possible causes of problems. And you will get unique tools to solve them.

You will be very precise and sensitive in your contact with the client’s tissue, and every treatment is like a journey of discovery into the tissue.

As a therapist, you can help your clients to a new and better version of themselves with your touch. With this body therapy, you never cross the line, but are the catalyst that gives the client the opportunity to heal themselves.

“A good therapist feels good”

The training is designed so that you take care of yourself as a therapist, and so you can work for many years without getting injured yourself.

In addition to the treatment form being gentle, you will be helped along the way to practice the correct working positions.

What Have our Clients Gained from the Treatment?

What You get in the Training

At Bindevævs-Akademiet, we place great emphasis on professionalism. You are taught the theory around connective tissue and the nervous system and get a thorough review of relevant anatomy, so you as a therapist have high professional insight and ballast.

We make a great effort to ensure you get a good 3D sense of the body’s anatomy. You learn where the different muscles are located, how they work and how they individually and through connective tissue chains can affect body posture, as well as the different typical pain patterns that tense muscles can cause. You also learn how you can release the muscles in relation to the different layers and treat them completely specifically and effectively.

Learning takes place primarily through practical work at the treatment table, where you alternately treat and receive treatment from one of your fellow students.

The changes you experience in your own body along the way, when you yourself are treated, are important learning for when you later have to treat your clients.

It is part of the course that between each module you must practice on at least 5 clients, whom we are happy to help you find. You earn the money yourself from your practice clients.

You Will also Learn:

  • Massage techniques and examinations
  • Trigger point treatment
  • The internal organs’ anatomy, function and emotions
  • The energy system
  • Unwinding
  • Scar tissue treatment – both physical and traumatic

What Can a Connective Tissue Therapist Offer Their Client?

Analysis and Solution Proposals

You can read the body for imbalances and possible causes of pain, treat the problem manually and give the client exercises to take home.

Better Body Posture

You can correct the client’s body posture and core muscles into balance, so the body thereby has better conditions for straightening up.

Tight tissue can pull on the bones so the body becomes crooked, and by working specifically with the connective tissue, the body’s natural balance can be restored and the elasticity of the tissue improved. The result can be seen immediately after a relaxation.

Free Mobility

You can give the client a feeling of freedom and lightness in the body by releasing the tight joints and muscles, so the body works better.

Gentle and Present Treatment

You will be very sensitive in your way of treating, so it feels like communication between your hands and the tissue. Even when you treat deep in the tissue.

Pain Treatment

You can treat clients with pain in the body, e.g. stiffness in the back and neck, tension headaches and sprained ankle. You will also be equipped to treat clients with problems such as whiplash, “sciatica pain”, disc prolapse and other injuries.

Preventive Treatment

You can prevent poor body posture, problems with inappropriate working positions, low energy and imbalances by ensuring that the body has the best conditions to function optimally.

Sports Injury Treatment

You can help athletes optimize muscle performance and work on their sports injuries.

Stress Treatment

You get techniques to alleviate physiological stress. You can help the client to better body contact and more peace in body and mind.

Face and Body Lift

By stimulating and relaxing the skin, muscles and surrounding connective tissue, the elasticity of the tissue is restored. Thereby the face and body are naturally lifted. When the connective tissue returns to its living and elastic form, the client experiences a tightening effect around the area you work on. You can therefore also use the technique to give the body or face a physical tightening lift, e.g. in face, chest, stomach and thighs.

After about an hour of treatment, your client will experience how effective connective tissue therapy can be. You can see and feel the treatment immediately and the process continues in depth and will work further until the client’s body has integrated its new form.

Body – Mind Connection

Body, thoughts and feelings are connected. The nervous system and the muscles in our face and body show our emotional expression before we ourselves register it. By giving the face more mimicry and the body more grounding, we get better contact with our feelings. The treatment can therefore also be used for psychological well-being and to create a free flow in body and mind.

Trauma Treatment

Connective tissue is also the memory of emotions, and when we release tensions, old traumas can be triggered. You learn how to resolve these, and how to handle a client with traumas.

Course Progression

The training runs over just over 1 year divided into 16 modules of three days approximately once a month.

In addition, after each module you must practice on at least five clients, which we follow up on in a common forum.

This is an important part of the training, so that you can become a skilled therapist. In addition to this giving you training in the professional and practical, you become familiar with client contact and meet real problems.

When you are fully trained, the biggest leap to your own practice has thus been taken.

You earn the money yourself from treating your practice clients, and we will help you find these practice clients if you cannot do so yourself.

The Training Consists of a Total of 370 RAB-approved Hours Distributed as Follows:

  • 310 hours of basic training including 50 hours of client training.
  • 50 hours of teaching in other alternative treatment
  • 10 hours of clinic guidance

We always have only small classes with max 10 students, so we can provide thorough guidance and supervision during the training. It is structured so that you have good time to integrate what you have learned and have the opportunity to have work on the side.

    • 5 times for 1,000 kr.
    • 5 times for 2,000 kr.
